WEDDINGS & EVENTS
On the Leelanau Peninsula’s western shore, you’ll find a true wonder of nature. Part of one of three national parks in Michigan, Sleeping Bear Dunes is the world’s largest freshwater sand dune. Tour the shifting sands and high, rolling hills to spectacular vistas on Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive or kick off your shoes and climb to the top at the Dune Climb.
Marking the tip of the Leelanau Peninsula, the Grand Traverse Lighthouse has guided sailors and their ships safely into the Manitou Passage, Straits of Mackinac and Grand Traverse Bay for nearly 150 years.
Today, one can tour the restored lighthouse resembling a keeper's home of the 1920's and 30's. Exhibits on area lighthouses, foghorns, shipwrecks and local history are located in the Lighthouse and Fog Signal Building.
Be sure to bring your clubs! The Leelanau County and Traverse City region is home to some of the nation’s best golf. Within a 20 minute drive of The Vineyard Inn, Arnold Palmer’s King’s Challenge and the Leelanau Club at Bahle Farms offer a beautiful setting and a first-class golf experience to players of every level.
Step back in time to this historic fisherman’s village on the banks of the Leland River in the heart of downtown Leland. Walk the boardwalks, visiting shops and watching as local fisherman unload the catch of the day, then take home some fresh or smoked fish for yourself! Want to experience the thrill of the chase? Leland is also a full-service marina, home to several charter boats that offer full and half-day fishing outings.
Nearly 100 miles of shoreline hug the orchard, forest, farm and vineyard covered hills of the Leelanau Peninsula. With a reputation as one of the most beautiful places in America, Leelanau County provides the perfect backdrop for your wedding or event.
